With the influx of paranormal reality shows and the inevitable “copycat” groups spawned from shows like “Ghosthunters” and “Paranormal State”, one might ask them-self what’s different from one paranormal investigative team to the next? After all, there are no degrees or certifications required to develop a team of paranormal investigators. All one really needs is the interest, the time, and the necessary equipment to document certain phenomena one might encounter. Unfortunately, most paranormal groups model their investigative and analysis techniques from the television shows that made “ghost hunting” so popular. The problem is that the goal of an investigative team and television are (or should be) entirely antithetical. The goal of a true investigative team should be to uncover the truth (whatever that truth may be). The goal of television? to increase viewership, thus increasing revenue. There is an inherent conflict between initiating an objective and critical analysis and producing a show that is interesting enough to watch week after week.
So how is Quantum Paranormal different from the average paranormal group one might discover on the world wide web? Quantum’s goal is to remain absolutely objective. This is no easy task. When one spends hours upon hours observing a location alleged to produce anomalous events, it is difficult to curb one’s enthusiasm when experiencing what could be considered a paranormal event. It is a common error among the field of paranormal study to assume an event must be attributable to a “ghost” or a “spirit” in total absence of any empirical data that would support that assumption. The logic employed by many in this field is “it’s unexplainable – therefore it must be a ghost” which is equivalent to saying “it’s unexplainable, therefore it can be explained”, which of course is completely irrational.
Be careful of those groups who claim to be able to identify the type of entity haunting your location or claim the ability to “clear” your home. Most such theories and claims are based on nothing more than centuries of superstition and myths – not on science. And always question a group who claims to take a scientific approach to investigating the paranormal while holding “seance – style” evp sessions in your home.
At Quantum Paranormal, we observe and collect data for purposes of extensive analysis. We measure certain environmental data, while recording all visual and audio events. We are not mediums, psychics, or new-age spiritualists. We will review all data collected from an investigation, isolate any anomalies and provide feedback based on the results. We will not make any unfounded claims. While each of us have our own beliefs and ideas, when it comes to the analysis, we look strictly at the naked facts.
Some believe paranormal phenomena are caused by ghosts or spirits, others believe there could be a window into another dimension or time…we will not support any claim that can not be supported by empirical evidence, but we will continue to search for answers in hope that one day we have enough data to support a theory based on something other than mere speculation.
